FOREHEAD Forehead constitutes
an important landmark of one’s personality. A well contoured
forehead with no extra wrinkles and absences of frown lines gives
a person often sought relaxed looks. Very deep horizontal lines
or deep frown lines in the middle between eyebrows makes a person
look very anxious.
Most of these problems can be very effectively dealt with procedures
like:
Forehead lift, endoscopic sub periostial lift of upper third of
face, carbon dioxide laser resurfacing and Botox injections.
Operative and post operative:
Surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia. Conventional
procedure involves a long incision within the hair bearing scalp.
Through this approach muscles producing wrinkles are weakened and
extra skin removed. Person can go back home the same day or the
next morning. Dressings are discontinued after about 3 days and
normal routine activities are resumed thereafter.
Injection treatment:
Most of the wrinkles can be treated quite effectively using Botox
injection therapy. The results are quick but temporary. The effect
last for 4 to 6 months and need to be repeated. There are also several
filler injections available to raise the skin under the wrinkles.
They last for 2 to 3 years.
Some persons can have adverse reaction to the injectable fillers
in the form of local redness and swelling for a varying period of
time
Results:
Results of this surgery are very good. It is Very effective in
treating deep horizontal and vertical wrinkles over the forehead.
Initially sometimes a person can have expressionless forehead or
over stretched appearance.
